A New Chapter for a Baltimore Tradition

As the SoWeBo Landmark 5K approaches its 15th year under the stewardship of Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance, the race enters an exciting new chapter. In collaboration with the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership, celebrating 10 years of transformative investment in South Baltimore and the Middle Branch corridor, the race returns as the SoWeBo Gateway 5K.

The reimagined race brings together legacy and forward progress, with a new course extending into South Baltimore and the greater Middle Branch. Participants will experience historic communities alongside emerging investments in parks, waterfront restoration, housing, recreation, and neighborhood development.

Race day is about more than crossing the finish line. The SoWeBo Gateway 5K brings together community, recreation, environmental stewardship, and celebration while showcasing the transformation taking place throughout South Baltimore and the Middle Branch.

Awards will recognize 1st-, 2nd-, and 3rd-place overall male and female finishers, along with male and female age-group categories.

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Participants of all ages can join a reef-ball-making activity led by the Coastal Conservation Association of Maryland in support of Middle Branch resiliency efforts.

Proceeds from the SoWeBo Gateway 5K directly support SSFA’s youth sports, wellness programming, and community-based initiatives.
