The Southwest Sports and Fitness Alliance is proud to welcome our 2020 VISTA volunteer, Morgan Johnson. Morgan is an exciting and welcome addition to our team as we continue to build on the important work we’ve been doing here in Southwest Baltimore. Morgan brings a lot of enthusiasm to the mission and adds to the investment we are making in the community. Below Morgan introduces herself:

“My name is Morgan Johnson, and I would like to officially introduce myself as the Southwest Sports Alliance (SSFA) Up2Us Sports AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) Summer Associate! While serving under this program, I will assist the Sports Alliance in its organizational, administrative, and financial capacity to help create additional opportunities for youngsters to gain confidence, learn about teamwork and discipline, work with supportive people and coaches, and develop healthy and active lifestyles in Southwest Baltimore.”

“In 2018, I graduated from Towson University, where I played competitive club and intramural soccer and received my Bachelor’s in Political Science. I will be starting my second year of law school at the Loyola University Chicago School of Law in the fall. My passion for service through sports and recreation derives from my childhood experiences of being a student athlete. At a very young age I was introduced to recreational sports, and I attribute much of my success to my experiences and participation in sports. I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to be involved in recreational sports, no matter where they live. I am excited to join the team!”

We’re thrilled to have Morgan join us! If you have questions about how you can join Morgan and the rest of our team, please reach out. You can go to the “Contact Us” page, or send us an email at sportsfitnessalliance@gmail.com!
